First of all we want to send our prayers and condolences to the Simmons family in the loss of our friend Steve. Barbara and Cary left Sager Brown Tuesday morning back en route to NC to attend the funeral. We hate that we will miss the service. He will be greatly missed.
Tuesday started with the loading of a container headed for the Republic of Georgia with emergency supplies. We loaded 1250 health kits, layette kits, sewing kits, and school kits. From there we made two trips with 500 flood buckets and 500 health kits each to Morgan City and Houma. We also worked in the Depot and began construction of an office for the facilities manager. That night after dinner we went back to the cemetery and continued work on the downed trees. We worked as long as we could bear the giant mosquitoes. Then to top it off the alternator went out on the truck we were driving.
Wednesday started with loading more flood buckets and health kits headed for Abbeville and Bell City. 1000 of each went to Bell City and 500 of each went to Abbeville. We also worked again in the Depot and some supply organization and construction on the office.
We apologize about the lack of blogs we have had problems with Internet connections, we can't wait to get back and share the pictures with everyone so you can see the blessings we have experienced.
In Christ's love,
UMCOR team

You guys and gals are awesome. I am soooo envious! I hope to get enough time one day to go on mission trips. I am so proud of you "NC Mountain Folks"! No one works any harder than mountain people. Sounds like you all are staying VERY busy. What a blessing you are to those people. Thank you so much for representing the love of Christ Jesus. I'm sure that all in Sager Brown can see Christ's love in all of you. Bob and Rhodella
